Why, What Where?

Rubbish London was founded by Matthew Hyland as an experiment to develop clothing from recycled materials. In 2021 we partnered with a material science company and produced a 100% recycled cotton fabric which we now use for all products.

 

Our supply chain starts in Central America where a mixture of pre & post consumer cotton is recycled mechanically. The process uses no water or chemicals and is extremely difficult and time consuming requiring highly skilled workers.

 

Our garments are created in a cut & sew facility in North America which is Sedex Certified to ensure the fair treatment of the workforce including payment of a living wage.

 

Garments are then shipped to the UK where they are dyed & printed to order at our Nottingham studio.

 

We continue to push the boundaries in sustainability and now offer free end of life recycling via our recycling partner in Spain where worn garments are recycled and are again made into new clothing.

What payment methods can I use?

We offer many different payment methods including major providers like Mastercard, Visa, PayPal and Apple Pay as well as buy now pay later payment methods including Klarna.

Can I purchase items with another currency?

Yes, you may select a currency based on your personal preference. When you select your country in the country selector on the upper right of the website or are taken directly to your country’s version of the website, you will see prices listed in the regional currency.

Can I make changes to my order after it’s been placed?

We do everything we can to fulfil orders quickly and unfortunately cannot make updates after an order has been placed. These changes include removing or adding products and/or changing the delivery address. If a mistake has been made with your order information, it’s quickest to create a new order with the correct information and then contact our Customer Service.

Do you offer e-gift cards for international customers?

E-gift cards are only available to customers shipping within the UK.

How To Return My Items?

For UK customers we offer free returns on faulty items only. For all other returns you will need to pay for the postage. If you need to return an item please contact us and we will provide the information required.

We do not currently offer free returns to overseas customers. You will therefore need to cover all costs of returning any items to us yourself. We advise that you mark your package ‘returned goods’ to avoid further duties. Remember: We strongly recommend that you return any items via a registered trackable service and obtain and retain proof of posting as we do not accept responsibility for items that fail to arrive with us.
